According to research by Doug Kaufman, over 90% of the American population has a fungal infection. Due to the similarity of the diet in Australia, these figures would be very similar. Here are some of the symptoms of Candida Albicans, just one of over 400 fungi that can cause problems.

It is safe to say that a yeast or parasite infection is involved in nearly all health issues. For Candida to be considered as the main causative feature of these symptoms, the following have to be ruled out – IBS, parasitic infection, bacterial overgrowth in the intestines, hypothyroidism and hypo-adrenalism. If an anti-fungal diet is followed and there is no improvement is symptoms, these factors need to be addressed.
Fungus and Candida also produce 79 different toxic products which places another considerable burden on the immune system. How does Fungus make us sick?
Candida is usually a resident of the digestive system, largely in the lower ends of the intestines. It also tends to occupy sites in the vagina region and on the skin, without causing any symptoms if good health is shown. Half the healthy population has Candida in their mouths, in healthy people Candida in the intestines is over 50%, in sick people it is around 80%, it is found in the vagina of about 20% of females and in symptoms where there is vaginal inflammation it is found in 60% of people.
Reasons why people are susceptible to Fungal infections
Some people are more sensitive to fungal infections than others. These risk factors should be identified in your initial consultation to identify the need to eliminate fungus
• Candida enters newborn infants during or shortly after birth. Usually, the growth of the yeast is kept in check by the infant’s immune system and thus produces no overt symptoms. But, should the immune response weaken, the condition known as oral thrush can occur as a result. By six months of age, 90% of all babies test positive for candida.
• Steroid hormones and immunosuppressant drugs such as cortisone which treat severe allergic problems by paralyzing the immune system’s ability to react
• Pregnancy, multiple pregnancies or birth control pills which upset the body’s hormonal balance
• Diets high in carbohydrate and sugar intake, as well as dietary yeast
• Prolonged exposure to environmental molds
• Antibiotics and sulfa drugs – Probably the chief culprit of all, antibiotics kill all bacteria . They do not distinguish good bacteria from

Progesterone levels also elevate during pregnancy
• Blood type non-secretors have a greater tendency to infections of all sorts and handle sugar not as effectively. This leads to more difficulties with yeast.
• O Type non-secretors are much more likely to develop oral candidal issues.
• It is also linked to mercury Amalgam fillings in the mouth. • Moulds and fermented foods such as vinegar, cheese, soy sauce, sour cream, buttermilk, cider, tofu, mustard and relish

• The bowels need to be working regularly. Fungi are eliminated from the bowel. Non-digestible fiber assists the body in ridding impacted wastes and aids in bowel regularity. Recommended sources are psyllium hulls or slippery elm. Take either at the hour of sleep (one tablespoon mixed in water) or divided throughout the day (one heaping teaspoon in water twice daily) if the fiber does not regulate you, you can try Cascara Sagrada, which stimulates peristalsis.
